1.5 kg of bananas (small sweet bananas are best)
250g flour
250g brown sugar
5ml vanilla extract/Essence
5g Nutmeg
1 pinch of Salt
Banana leaves (for the parcels)


Mash the bananas.
Add the vanilla essence, nutmeg, sugar and a pinch of salt to the mashed bananas and mix well. Add and mix the flour in slowly with the banana mixture.
Heat the bananas leaves on a low heat until they are easily manipulated and then make small parcels of banana and tie securely with string (see photo below)

Bring a large pot of water to the boil and place your banana parcels in the boiling water for 15-20 Minutes.

Let them rest and cool down before serving.
